World Malaria Day - 2017, Amroli, Surat
On account of “World Malaria Day”, Yogi Divine Society had organized a seminar in Shanti Niketan Society, Amroli in Surat on Thursday, the 20th April 2017 to develop awareness about Malaria in the general public during which, nearly 70 gents and youths were informed about reasons for attack of Malaria, its symptoms and the steps to prevent it.
Through a power point presentation program, Sri Bhaveshbhai Mevawala had explained that, Malaria is since spread by mosquitos, by controlling its breeding, we can stop its spread. Because the mosquitos put their eggs in water, their larva and pupas also get developed there only, so, by keeping water tanks, drums etc. covered and by removing and cleaning the water from flower pots, air coolers, fridges etc. regularly, we can prevent the increase of mosquitos.
A campaign has been launched by the health dept. in entire Gujarat and when the UNO has started a campaign to make the entire world free of Malaria by 2022, a vaccine for malaria has also been found as per the reports received recently, which will help us in our fight against malaria.
Nowadays, by Govt. in its dispensaries while, by the Municipalities in their primary health centers, the medicines for malaria are provided free of cost. By necessarily completing a course of medicine called Primaquine for 14 days, it can be totally cured. Otherwise, the virus of malaria left out in human body get developed and attack again. All these were explained to all the participants.
As a part of many health oriented public service activities conducted regularly by the institution, one such effort was made through this seminar to awaken the public against diseases and fight against them which was highly appreciated by all the participants.
Institution’s elderly volunteers like Sri Natuda, Sri Ishwarbhai Prajapati and Sri Nandlalbhai also remained present in this program.
