In order that the people in the society get the proper guidance to live a healthy life, Jay Charities (Mumbai) and Yogi Divine Society, Haridham, Sokhada, Vadodara had jointly, with the cooperation from Jiva Ayurveda, organized a seminar on Sunday, the 11th Oct 2015, on a subject like “Modern Ayurveda in Daily Life” and a camp to provide free health check-up at Atmiya Welfare Center, Kandivali (East), Mumbai in which, around 250 people had taken the benefit of this seminar and free pulse check-up.

While inaugurating the seminar, Sahishnu Sevak Shri Nishkambhai, quoting Guruhari P.P. Swamiji’s opinion, “I always advocate Ayurveda from beginning only….”, talked on the benefits of ayurvedic treatments in our life.

Then, while welcoming and introducing the main speaker of the seminar, Dr. Pratap Chouhan (Director - Jiva Ayurveda), he said that, he is the first Indian ayurvedic doctor who has laid foundation stone of Online Ayurvedic Medicines. He started the first Online Ayurvedic Clinic ‘ayurvedic.org’ in 1995. He is the recipient of U.N.’s “World Summit Award” for his project “Telidoc” for distribution of medicines in remote villages. He has also established an Ayurvedic company called “Jiva Ayurveda”. He has also started the world’s first Telemedicine Center in Faridabad in which, 150 doctors talk to and guide the people all over the world online, telephonically and personally. He has been honored with several national and international awards.

He has been regularly and frequently visiting more than 50 countries of the world for the propaganda and spread of Ayurveda. He also writes articles in magazines and journals like “Eternal Health – Eternal Beauty” and “Ayurvedic Home Remedies”.

He also informs and provides knowledge about Ayurveda to the general public through the relay of TV shows like Eternal Health, Sanjivani and Jivanand on TV channels like Zee Jagaran, News 24, Care World TV and P7 News.

While informing the main aim of today’s seminar he said that, ayurvedic literature is an Indian diagnosis system. Ayurveda means a literature in which, the knowledge about life/age and disease is given. The unification of our body, organs, satva (mind) and atma (soul) is called Ayurveda. In modern terms, that only is the life. A body with prana only is called to be alive. The relation between ayu (life) and body is eternal.

The Ayurveda has been recognized as the only treatment capable of curing the oldest and the most difficult/incurable diseases. It is a literature of “Living a proper Life”. It was invented/developed about 5000 years ago in India. The root of Naturopathy used in foreign countries today lies in Ayurveda only. This is the first and only science which cures the diseases by unifying the body and the soul.

According to Ayurveda, the life means the unification of knowledge, mind, body and the soul which proves that, it is not limited only up to the signs/symptoms of body but, it is a science, describing – defining the level of one’s spiritual, mental and social status as well as a best and the most easy and comfortable way/style of living a healthy and disease free life.

In Ayurveda, every patient is given treatment according to his constitution/nature. Whenever the flows of tension and of energy are more or less equal/balanced in the body, the natural capacity of protection of the body is also efficient.

According to Ayurveda, only a sound/healthy person can achieve his goals of duty/religion, wealth, work/passion and moksha/salvation, so, while giving required importance to the care/protection of body, it says that the instrument/medium of achieving all these goals is the body which should be taken proper care of.

There is nobody in the world, who invites/likes pains and wants to be unhappy in the life, everybody wants to live a happy and pleasant life but, it always/totally depends mainly upon the sound/healthy body. It is very essential for being healthy and happy that there is absolutely no disease in the body and, at all if it develops, it must be treated/removed at once. The fundamental aim of Ayurveda is to protect the health of the people and to remove their diseases. Because, the ancient rishis knew about this fact, they have given equal importance to physical purification and the sound health along with the purification of the atma. According to Ayurveda, there are mainly 3 diseases (tridosh) Vaat, Pitt and Cough in the body. If they are balanced, the body remains sound and healthy.

While talking about our foods, Dr. Pratap said that, as much as the exercise is necessary to keep our body healthy, the proper food is also equally important. Eating only is not enough but, what to eat, how much to eat and how to eat is also equally important to know. Like food, the activities done by us through our sense also affect our health equally.

According to Ayurveda, diagnosis means to find out the root cause of the disease. It is not always necessary that the reasons/causes for the developed diseases are within the body only but, many a time, they are found to be related to the persons, incidents or the work places. It is necessary to find out the real reasons/causes of the diseases to properly cure/treat them.

According to Ayurveda, the treatment (upachar) doesn’t only mean relieving the patient from the disease but it means the total treatment (sarvopchar) meaning, to relieve the patient from his physical as well as mental disease. To find out/trace the root cause of the disease, different tests/examinations are conducted, out of which, “Nadi Pariksha” (nadi=pulse, pariksha=examination) is the one. By examining the pulse, an Ayurveda doctor can judge the disease from the irregularity/imbalance in the pulse and, to balance this irregularity itself only is the Ayurveda. While diagnosing the patient, in addition to the imbalance in his tridosh, even his mental status, family relations and his life-style are also taken into consideration.

After the speech by Dr. Chouhan, a program of questions-answers was also organized in which, while replying to all the questions from the audience, they were also well informed about all round valuable benefits of Ayurveda in order to develop/spread the interest for it in them. Having learnt all these interesting things about Ayurveda here, they all had resolved to live a healthy life style from then only.

Shri Khushalbhai Kawa one of the trustees of Jay Charities, Mumbai had thanked Dr. Pratap Chouhan while honoring him with a bouquet. On behalf of Yogi Divine Society, the Mumbai’s regional saint leader P. Haripriyaswami had gifted Dr. Pratap Chouhan with a DVD containing the activities of Yogi Divine Society. The entire program of this seminar was relayed on TV by Care World TV in their “Eternal Health” program.

At the end of the seminar, the doctors from Jiva Ayurveda had checked the pulse of every interested attendant free of cost and had also examined them for diseases, if any in them while also distributing to all of them the passes for examination in their dispensary at concessional rates.
